This project centers around my journey as a nonbinary person. Nonbinary means that I do not identify as either a female or male. That is why this project introduces the idea of the fluidity of art throughout time because that is how I see gender - fluid. In the past, society has tried to create strict rules for art but it soon became clear that art is subjective and cannot be restricted. I dream of a future where the same will be said about gender, no more binaries, just fluidity. I used animation as my medium for this project because it is such a fluid medium in itself. By making use of frame-by frame animation drawn by hand the animation becomes messy and imperfect, just like people. 

My intention for this animation is to convey my journey of self-discovery and the importance of accepting one's past in order to create a future of your own design.
