About Me
“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Marchall Potgieter, but I usually just go by "Marsh". My pronouns are they/them and I'm a Queer Feminist artist residing in Pretoria. Social justice and identity politics are passions of mine and a lot of my work reflects that. Ever since I could hold a pen I enjoyed creating characters and worlds for them to live in. My primary medium used to be ink, but I like to challenge myself as soon as I get too comfortable. After becoming well acquainted with sketching I began to dabble in oil and acrylic painting. Finally, I decided to completely dive into the unknown with digital art and animation, I haven't looked back since.
I'm currently studying Educational Psychology with Art at the University of Pretoria and I plan on pursuing a career in art after I graduate. At the moment I am doing freelance work while I complete my studies. If you are interested in working with me, please feel free to get in touch.
